Secrets For Your Heart And...

Secrets For Your Heart And… Magically Create…

by: Piercarla Garusi

I heard the story of this person… she was very unhappy… stressed, feeling depressed, anxious, angry, lonely, hopeless, struggling…just surviving…but then…

She had been told that life was a struggle and she had to work hard to earn money …that everything had to be earned…that nothing was free…nothing was given…that money did not grow on trees…so she was burning herself out.

She had been told she was lucky to have a job and she had better hold on tight to it, but she did not like it…actually she hated it…she was completely unfulfilled.

She was in a relationship where she was not happy. She did not feel loved and she was not treated properly; but she had been told she might not find another person…better that than being alone…but she was so unhappy…

She had been told she could not know what destiny would bring her…that she could not control the future…that she had to live the moment…so she was drinking too much, eating a lot, doing too much, she thought that that was the way to enjoy life. But she was feeling more and more off-centre and her life was more and more out of control…her health was getting poor, she had no energy and she was getting depressed because she could never achieve what she wanted…her dreams. She started to think that maybe she had no right to her dreams…maybe what she wanted was just not achievable.

She had been told life is hard, it is tough, and so she had to be tough, and she could not believe she would ever receive anything for free. She believed that if she did not achieve her goals it simply meant she had not worked hard enough…pro-noia was quite impossible to believe in…

She had been told to be wary of people…so she could not believe in goodness, she could not trust, and so she could not feel the warmth she desired.

She had been told she had to behave in a certain way to be accepted by society. She tried to do it but she felt so empty inside, as if she was betraying herself, trying to be someone she was not, missing out on the thrill of being herself. So she tried to stop conforming, but then she felt so different. Her self-esteem became very low, as people told her there was something wrong with being her… she was different… so she started becoming socially anxious…and she believed there was something wrong with being her…and she started beating herself up…

She had been told the past determines the future. She was born in a poor and dysfunctional family and she had emotional problems caused by this, and limiting beliefs. She so wanted to be free…to be well…but she had been told the only way to get free is to struggle, so she was struggling…but the more she struggled, the more she was kept back.

She was very beautiful, but she didn’t like herself; she actually hated herself and kept beating herself up.

She had extraordinary gifts, qualities and talents, but she couldn’t see them…she thought she was nobody…worthless.

She felt so powerless…with destiny out of control…

She felt so lonely and unloved…

And she was struggling to live…to survive…and the more she struggled, the more struggles she met, the more she became convinced that life really was a struggle.

But one day she heard a story…they told her there was an old man in town, extremely wealthy, very successful, in extraordinary health for his age (and he was 98) …and he was so happy, with such inner freedom, peace and love. He had been happy all his life and he had a wonderful life, he loved every bit of it. Everything was so easy, so effortless; he achieved everything he wanted…even much more he could have ever dreamt of… He was in town with his wife. They had been married for 75 years, true soul mates, and still so in love…

And as she heard this story something inside her made her think: ‘I must meet this man and ask him his secret.’

It was the call to fulfil her dreams, her call to freedom, her call to love, her call to happiness.

She had read that the man was going to give a talk that evening in the centre of town. When she arrived there, there were tens of thousands of people…all waiting…all wanting to know how he did it…how he managed to live such a life.

The curtains opened and he was sitting in the centre of the stage with his wife, smiling, so at peace, so happy.

And when a person asked him how he did it, which special qualities he had in order to live such an extraordinary life…he replied,’My dear, dear friend…it is not that I am particularly special…that I have special qualities or powers…the truth is that everyone without exception is very, very special, with extraordinary qualities and extraordinary powers. You just do not know it yet…’ and he added, ‘and the secret is to be, love and cherish yourself; it is to be your true essence. You are well-being and love and peace and energy and light and infinite and presence and life and infinite wisdom; it is to ask, because whatever you ask, you shall receive’; and he added, ‘you know, you can have and be and do anything, really anything, you want; you just need to choose what makes you most happy in your heart. It is very simple; and he added, ‘And my dear friend, there is something else that I must tell you; there is another thing you need to know: you are loved beyond measure for who you are, and you are beautiful.’

And while she was listening to the old man, she cried, because she understood the truth, and she felt liberated and totally empowered to achieve the desires of her heart. And so she started her journey…

How To Recognize Depression

How To Recognize Depression

by: Ray Stone

Mental health, not the sort of thing most people choose to talk about seriously. We've all heard the comments about 'Sad Sack', 'Mr Grumpy' or phrases like 'Smile, I'll pay for the stitches' or 'Stop moping around'. It saddens me every time I hear a remark like that, something insensitive or said out of plain ignorance, usually by people who have little or no contact with people who suffer from depression, and most certainly do not have a loved one or family member that suffers from depression or any other mental disorder, that can so easy get a tight grip on a sufferers life. It's almost tabboo if you think about it.

Suffering from depression or mental health problems, is something that most people feel ashamed to admit. Who wouldn't, with comments like those above aimed right at you. If you have suffered from major depression or have had an episode of depression that has contributed significantly to a change in your daily life, facing up to comments like those above is something that you will have to accecpt sooner or later.

What about those people who don't suffer a major depression or severe episode, whether life-threatening or not? Those of us who definately don't have depression and definately don't need to see a shrink to confirm what we already know: that we are not depressed! This brings me to the core of this article: How do you recognise depression?

It is so very important to be vigilant. To be aware of the warning signs, and the earlier they are spotted, the better. Why? Because being depressed leads to behaviour that is not helpful. Behaviour that over time, is reinforced day after day, month after month. Slowly but surely getting a firm grip on your life. It is much harder to spot a change in behaviour if it occurs and develops gradually over time. But what are these signs and behaviour that we should look out for?

The most common symptom of depression and one which most people think is the only one is having a persistant empty or 'sad' mood. This is not what can sometimes be reffered to as feeling 'down in the dumps'. The mood will last from several weeks at least. At which point you should see a psychiatrist or doctor. A feeling of pessimism, hopelessness or helplessness and being critical of oneself for never being good enough at anything no matter what we do. Depression can lead to a lack of interest in persuits someone usually enjoys. Feeling lethargic or having no enegry or drive, even for sex, is another symptom of depression that can slowly be re-enforced over time. Trouble with sleeping and eating is a symptom that most people would not usually associate with depression. Sleeping disorders are often dismissed as having developed a mild case of insomnia that will surely go away over time. Some people wake early in the morning and are unable to fall back asleep. Eating disturbances to, especially in women, can hide the depression, because the first thing that will come to mind is anorexia or bulimia. This is true, but we also need to place these symptoms in context, which is why it is so important to know the facts and symptoms of depression so that we can see the bigger picture.

Depression often goes hand in hand with anxiety. Anxiety can also cause sleeping disturbances, as well as a feeling of dread, increased heart rate and more severely, panic attacks. Depression and anxiety can easily knock our confidence levels as both can lead to difficulty concerntrating and remembering or making decisions. These symptoms can climax with devistating effect. Within the workplace they can lead to a complete nervous breakdown where the person no longer knows, or can't remember how to do their job or how they even got there. Nothing makes sense and it can be very frightening when you are faced with a situation like this where you no longer know what is happening around you, or much less, why you are feeling this way. Depression can also manifest itself through persistent physical symptoms or pains that do not seem to respond to treatment. Irritable and losing ones temper are also symptoms of deppression, seen more often in males than females. Thoughts of suicide, attempts and plans are never to be taken lightly. Often, suicide attempts are a cry for help. Sometimes they are not.

A person can be diagnosed with depression if four or more of the symptoms above have been present in a two week period or more. Not everyone will have the same symptoms so it is important to be aware and look for signs of all symptoms of depression. Remember, only a doctor or psychiatrist can diagnose depression.

Secrets To Answered Prayers

Secrets to Answered Prayer - Challenge Your Beliefs

by: Rob Marshall

He sighed as he thought to himself, "Why do I keep coming back here? I come here every day and nothing ever changes, nothing happens. When the angel moves the water, someone always gets into the pool before I do. If I just had someone who could help me, but there's no one who will come and wait here with me. If there was just some other way to get healed."

Suddenly someone's shadow came over him. He looked up, squinting into the sun to see who it was. The man who was standing there looked down at him and asked, "Do you want to get well?"

"Do I want to get well?" the man thought. "Yes, I want to get well, but I can't," he replied. He told the stranger about not being able to get into the pool after the angel moved the water. But the stranger looked down at him and said, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."

He couldn't believe it; he felt a surge of energy in his legs. Was this really happening? Was he healed?

He pushed himself up, picked up his mat and began walking. It was a miracle!

Maybe you've prayed for something for a long time but nothing seemed to change. And to add to your frustration, you kept seeing other people getting answers to their prayers while yours seemed to be unanswered.

Perhaps you recognize this story from John chapter 5 about the lame man who had been coming to the pool called Bethesda. In the story it says that a great multitude of people who were blind, lame, or paralyzed were at the pool, each of them hoping that he would be the first one to get into the pool and be healed.

Have you ever wondered, when there were so many people there who wanted to be healed, why it was that Jesus only healed one of them?

We can speculate about a lot of things. Was this man more righteous than any of the other people? No! When we read the rest of the story, we see that Jesus found the man at the temple, and warned him that he would need to stop sinning or something worse would happen. So at the time Jesus healed the man, he was a sinner.

Was the man more deserving? No! He was just one person who was loved by God, just like all the rest. God never shows favoritism, He loves us all equally.

Perhaps the one thing that set this man apart from everyone else, was that he was willing to believe that there was another way to be healed. Maybe he understood that stepping into the pool was one way, but not the only way, to be made well. This man, unlike everyone else at the pool, was willing to question his beliefs and have the faith that it was God who heals, and not the pool at Bethesda.

One of the first secrets to answered prayer is that we have to be willing to question our current beliefs about answered prayer. We have to be willing to recognize that it's God who answers our prayers. It's not about a formula we might use, or anything else. It's simply about having faith in a loving God.

The beliefs that we hold affect our thoughts and emotions. They influence our actions and they even effect what we are willing, and able, to see.

An experiment was done where a room full of people were asked to watch a video. The video showed two basketball teams in different colored uniforms passing the ball back and forth. They were asked to count how many times the ball was passed to someone on the team wearing the yellow uniforms.

When the video was over, the researchers asked them if they had seen anything unusual, and two or three of the people raised their hands. The researchers then replayed the video and everyone laughed when they saw that part way through the video, someone dressed in a gorilla outfit walked into the middle of the picture and waved several times.

Why had most of the people missed the gorilla? The simple answer is: They were looking for something else.

Like the people laying around the pool at Bethesda, we can get so caught up in thinking about how God has to answer our prayers, that we're not open to Him doing it some other way.

If you believe that God will only answer your prayers if you meet certain requirements, challenge your belief. If you believe that you are not worthy of God's love, challenge your belief.

God answers our prayers because He loves us, wants our joy to be full, and so that He can glorify His name. If you believe anything else, challenge your belief.

Powerful Visualization Secrets

Powerful Visualization Secrets

by: Michael Lee

One of the kindest persons I've ever met has shared with me some of her visualization secrets to get what you want in life. I want to share them with you too:

1. If you visualize, you have to be in the picture. Example, you visualize a car, its type, model, color, etc. BUT What you should be doing is to visualize yourself riding or driving the car of your dreams.

She said before, she used to visualize a silver suv; what happens is that she sees so many silver suvs passing by, without her in it!

2. It helps if you do visualization at a specific time and do it regularly. DON'T do it just once in a while, then easily give up.

3. Don't be shy in making a request from the universe. Don't think you can't ask for more if you have so many blessings already.

We are encouraged to dream big, and everything that we need is already within us.

4. You can also inject fun in doing visualizations. She says, "My seatmate sees herself jumping up and down while doing the task she is thinking of. Injecting an element of fun encourages you to do it repetitively."

5. Think pictures. She says, "I have been affirming that 'I am a friendly person' but I cannot picture it out in my mind. So I have to create an image that relates to that like I am smiling and shaking hands with a person I just met."

"Like if you say 'I am rich' you have to 'materialize' it. What does being rich mean to you? Is it seeing in the computer so many people ordering your products? Encashing checks? It should be an activity."

6. You have to really desire, believe, and accept. You desire the thing or activity with passion, you believe that it will be yours (that this or something better will be given), and accept it.

Don't be afraid. Acceptance is being prepared for all the attachments and responsibilities that goes with what you asked for.

7. Visualization must be done repeatedly. Initially, you may doubt that it is impossible for you to get what you ask for. But as you do it repeatedly, you tend to "hypnotize" yourself and believe what you are saying. Repetition causes you to focus on your goal.

8. You can do it with your eyes open! You don't have to do meditations (like you need to hear gongs, go through the colors of the rainbow, or say "ommm") first to be able to go into the alpha state. You just need to be relaxed and just have theimage in your mind.

Overcome Your Winter Depression

Overcome Your Winter Depression

by: Connie Limon

In North America, it is estimated that 50 to 60 percent of the population is affected by winter depression. There is a broad spectrum of symptoms that arise, from a change in sleep patterns and weight gain, to overwhelming suicidal thoughts and the unfortunate results. This means about half of the people you know are depressed in the wintertime!

Wintertime depression is most common north and south of the equator. People who live near the equator have a very low incidence of winter depression. The reason for this is they live where there are enough daylight hours to avoid triggering the hormone imbalance that causes depression. What matters is the length of the day (daylight hours), not the weather. Depression in the winter is called “Seasonal Affective Disorder.”

People who live in northern climates suffer because of the seasonally shortened days. Just as trees lose their leaves when the days shorten, people lose their happiness. People who live where the days shorten seasonally are victims of the brain's chemical reaction to lesser hours of daylight.

If you live in a climate where daylight hours are shortened there are a few things you can do to help overcome Season Affective Disorder.

You can use light therapy to extend the hours of daylight in your day. Light therapy is the most effective depression treatment known. Sit near a small bank of lights for a couple of hours each day.

You need a fixture that will hold four foot long fluorescent bulbs. Buy the best 'grow' lights. The kind that is best for plants. They are the closest match to the spectrum of sunlight. Do not use standard fluorescent bulbs. They are too green and will actually drain the energy out of you. Research shows the best time to treat winter depression with light therapy is early in the morning. The best time is probably the first task of the day. You could sit quietly near the lights to read uplifting material before you begin your day.

In addition, try to following tips:

• Stick to a daily routine.

• Go to bed on time so you can do your light therapy first thing in the mornings.

• Try to avoid annoying people.

• Arrive at work early. Plan your day. Make a list of what you want to accomplish and check things off as you accomplish them.

• Save challenging projects for when you are not fighting winter depression.

• Decide that the weather not affect your mood. You cannot change the weather.

• If the weather is bad, allow a little extra time to get to work. Accept the weather as it is and move on.

• Improve your health. Eat healthier foods.

• Exercise. Walking is one of the best exercises for depression. It is nearly impossible to think bad thoughts while you are walking briskly.

• Drink plenty of water.

In conclusion, don’t give up on yourself. If you still feel bad after you have done the entire above mentioned, yell for help! If you can’t talk to your family or a friend, talk to your personal physician. See a nurse in a clinic, or a psychologist. Do not keep your feelings inside. There are all kinds of help for people who suffer from any kind of depression.

Menopause and Depression

Menopause And Depression

by: Susan Megge

Many women experience bouts of depression as they approach menopause. As a matter of fact, midlife can be considered a period of increased risk for depression in women, the majority taking place in the years during the transition through the menopausal years. This period of time is associated with gradual declines in estrogen levels, which may be linked with the onset of depression.

It can be confusing when trying to determine if you’re suffering from depression, simply going through menopause or experiencing both. This is because many symptoms of menopause and depression are very similar, such as interrupted sleep patterns, fatigue, hot flashes, mood swings, anxiety and difficulty concentrating. It’s important, however, to talk with your doctor if you think you may be suffering from depression; don’t play guessing games with your health because if left untreated, depression can lead to additional episodes, which have the potential to be more severe. Untreated depression can also result in physical complications, such as heart attack and the loss of bone density.

If your doctor thinks that your depression is as a result of declining hormone levels as you’re approaching or experiencing menopause, there’s a possibility he will suggest hormone replacement therapy, which includes estrogen. It’s important to discuss both the benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapy, including potential benefits to your overall mood. Recent studies have shown that the risks of hormone therapy include heart attack, stroke and breast cancer, and some professionals believe that these risks may outweigh the benefits women can receive from this course of treatment. That being said, estrogen therapy remains the most effective treatment for many menopausal symptoms.

Short term therapy (12-20 weeks) has also proven to combat depression in women experiencing menopause. Especially effective are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on negative thoughts and behaviors that tend to worsen depressed mood and teaches better ways of thinking and behaving, and Interpersonal Therapy, which helps individuals to communicate more effectively with others to help eliminate stressors.

Fortunately, the benefits of exercise in depression are well documented. Exercise helps with the treatment of depression by releasing the body’s mood-elevating compounds, reducing the depression hormone cortisol, providing a feeling of accomplishment and enhancing self esteem. I personally exercise approximately an hour most days of the week, but even exercising as little as ten minutes per day has been found to have beneficial effects for many women experiencing menopausal depression.

You may also want to consider a prescription medication to help you cope with the symptoms you’re experiencing. Discuss this possibility with your doctor because there are several effective and well-tolerated antidepressant medications now available. These medications have been proven to be an essential part of treatment for women who are moderately to severely depressed.

It’s also important to simply take care of yourself by eating a well balanced diet, decreasing your intake of refined sugar, caffeine, alcohol and chocolate. Are you getting enough sleep? Sleep deficiencies can make depression worse, so if you must, develop relaxing bedtime rituals, such as taking a hot bath or reading a good book.

Finally, just give yourself a break. Not only are you experiencing symptoms of menopause, but midlife also brings about life events that can be stressful, adding to the risk of depression, irritability and moodiness. Perhaps your children are leaving home, you’re caring for an elderly parent or have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. All of these events will undoubtedly add stress to an already busy life. Take time for yourself, eat a healthy diet, exercise and know that you’re a strong and capable woman and you will get through this.

Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

Innovators: How To Turn Your Dreams Into Reality

by: Neil Armand

Whether you have tried to sell your ideas in the past and failed or whether you have never tried beyond nurturing your ideas in your mind, please remember this--if you deeply believe in your ideas and if you have a vision of greatness for your ideas, one day, you will be able to turn your dreams into reality.

Remember Carl Carlson's 17-year efforts to make his copy machine (Xerox) a reality and Thomas Edison's 10,000 experiments to invent the light bulb. The powerful lesson from many great inventors and entrepreneurs in human history is--Never Give Up! Even if everybody keeps telling you to give up and to get a life beyond your dreams, you should remember that negative people and negative reinforcements are only barriers to transforming your new ideas and dreams into reality.

Many famous inventors and entrepreneurs refused to give up regardless of how many people laughed at them or how many times they failed. Many of them took a great deal of risks in their personal and professional lives to sell their ideas and inventions. In their endless efforts to sell ideas and inventions they passionately believed in, these innovators approached hundreds of companies, paid multiple brokers to show their ideas to manufacturers, explained their new ideas to scores of consultants, attended dozens of trade shows and seminars, and made hundreds of telephone calls.

But, they knew that one can never be sure of how long it will take to succeed. And so, they never gave up. They smiled when friends and relatives would ridicule them and say "how is that big idea coming along"? They were heart-broken when some companies said that their new ideas were not worth considering.

But, after the initial disappointment, they became more determined to prove that those companies were wrong, and so they worked even harder to sell their new ideas and to transform their dreams into reality. All the negative people and negative reinforcements could not destroy their spirit of endurance, perseverance and resilience. They remembered the famous quote "Most people succeeded just one step beyond their greatest failure."

They kept on trying and did not allow the rejections and negative reinforcements to kill their new ideas and their hopes and dreams. They took every obstacle as a challenge to overcome. They picked themselves up after every rejection and kept on working even harder.

They deeply believed that one day, the right opportunities will present themselves and will open the doors to their hopes and dreams. They sincerely felt that the right company, agency, investor or marketer would realize how their new ideas could be turned into successful products, services, business entities or national development programs.

In the end, their confidence, perseverance and hard work helped them turn their dreams into reality. They realized that they had been approaching all the wrong people or companies who failed to see the possibility in their new ideas. And then one day in a magical moment, the right person or company had the opportunity to see their ideas and instantly recognized the vision of greatness in their new ideas.

For many industries the best new ideas are not generated in-house, they come from outside, from innovators such as yourself. Although all companies engage in in-house product development, the smarter companies also search outside to augment their resources. Investors, marketers and idea commercialization companies also help innovators develop their new ideas for market introduction.

Many such companies and investors are now using a number of online intellectual property forums to locate suitable new ideas for purchase, licensing or joint-venture deals These include PatentcafePatentcafe.com (http://www.patentcafe.com), NewIdeaTrade.com (http://www.newideatrade.com), and Inventioncity.com (http://www.inventioncity.com).

Human civilization rests on coming up with new ideas and better ways of doing things. As stated by the bestselling author and entrepreneur Seth Godin, “this century is about ideas…we recognize that ideas are driving the economy, ideas are making people rich, and most important, ideas are changing the world.”

In today's knowledge-based economy, new ideas are our greatest asset that can generate immense new value and wealth. All around the world, there are buyers and sellers, demand and supply for new ideas. Value is no longer derived by creating things, but by generating and trading new ideas.

Additional information on how to sell innovations is available at http://www.newideatrade.com/new_ideas.htm.

Proven Herbal Remedies for Depression

Proven Herbal Remedies for Depression

by: Alex Fir

Antidepressant pills usually work quickly, but they are expensive and come with side effects. Because of this, people all over the world are choosing herbal remedies in order to avoid the side effects of prescription drugs. The popularity of these herbal medicines has grown considerably in the last 10 years.

These natural alternatives have been carefully studied. The herbs have been tested in the laboratories across the world. Nearly all the results showed no side effects.

A variety of herbs like St. Johns wort, Kava kava, Valerian root, etc. have shown fantastic results in people taking these herbal remedies for a few days or a few weeks.

These herbal alternatives can be purchased at retailers in different combinations. Despite the fact that these herbs are beneficial in the same way, they are not regulated by the FDA and do not have official approval for sale.

- St. John’s wort is one of the most commonly used herbal antidepressants. You can easily find it in various medico-stores. Many clinical studies have showed that it helps in relieving the symptoms of depression in a matter of a few weeks. St John’s wort is as good as most of the popular drugs.

- Kava kava is one of the strongest antidepressant herbs. Hundreds of clinical trials found that Kava kava is far more effective than most of the traditional drugs. In addition, it is also one of the safest medicines to take with no side effects.

- Valerian root is helpful for people who suffer lack of sleep because of depression. It has tranquilizing effects on the brain. The roots lead to immediate sleep. Many studies conducted on this herb have discovered it is the best for curing sleeps related disorders, such as depression.

Minerals (zinc, magnesium and potassium) play a huge role in maintaining the mood of people. A number of studies found that people who are consuming balanced amounts of minerals in their diet can lower depression.

Smile Time

Here's a lil story for ya:

I'm not feeling quite right so I decide to have the Doc check me out. Well, I go to the Doc and I tell him about feeling a little off. He asks me to describe my day. I tell him I get up around 6 am, clean up, grab some breakfast (cereal, etc) and sit at my desk and check to see how the market is doing. Then at 8:15am I go to the bathroom and have a BM. Then lunch around 2pm and dinner at 9pm.

The Doc decides to a scan. He then tells me I have 3 worms!!! That he recommends that I have surgery in 2 days!!!

In the meantime: The 3 worms inside me hear the Doc say he is going to do surgery to find them! One worm says, "I'm going to hide behind the heart!". The other worm says, "I'm going to hide behind the liver". They ask the last worm where he is going to hide? The 3rd worm says, "Forget that! I'm taking the 8:15 out of here in the morning!"

Bada Bing!

David Passed Away

I have very sad news. David passed away on Tuesday night at 10PM. He had gotten worse day by day, his spine was destroyed and he never came out of the coma. The Doctors said if he would be a vegetable if he survived and would be on a ventilator the rest of his life. David would have never wanted that. He was a strong hunk of a man and would never want to be a lump in a bed. David is on to new and better things. I'm angry and depressed over such a fine, young man is taken from us. Life can really be sad and hard to understand at times. Keep David in your thought. He was a fine, young man and will be missed.

David Doing Better

I just heard from David's wife and it looks like they aren't going to amputate his leg so far. Its day to day and he is still paralyzed from the neck down. Time will tell.

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

David Crashed On A Motorcycle

Friday night, David was helping these stupid tweakers who lived across from him move out. Some tweaker shows up with a high powered motorcycle and they were taking turns riding it around the complex. David, being David, decides to jump on the bike and ride it out of the complex, out onto Saxony Rd. Evidently, he makes it about 2 miles before hitting a curb and crashing. When the paramedics got to him, he was awake and told him his name and that he could not feel his arms or legs. So they LifeFlight him to Scripps La Jolla.

The biggest injury is a bruise on his spinal cord up around the base of his neck that has left him paralyzed from the neck down and having to breath on a ventilator. The bruise can heal and allow partial or complete recovery from the paralysis or it can be just as bad as severed spinal cord. they are operating on the neck tomorrow to give his spinal column some more room to help relive the pressure in that area.

His left leg below the knee is pretty much a shattered mess and in two separate surgeries, they were going to amputate the leg, but both times they thought they would leave it on for now. Even in a best case scenario, David would have to have about 8 surgeries to rebuild this leg, so we are not very confident that he will keep it.
There was a lot of dirt mixed in with the crushed bones when they first brought him in and while a sever infection is still a major concern, so far no real infection has been detected. A minor miracle in itself!

He has a severely bruised and partially collapsed lung that we were told will turn into pneumonia at some point.

His shoulder was also severely damaged, but was repaired yesterday.

So, that is the latest. After the surgery tomorrow, we should know more about the paralysis in about a week "
I have also been trying to think of some way I can help do something for them from here. Fund raising efforts or information on disability compensation for David. I know Selena is not thinking of the financial impact this is going to have but I am sure it will be an issue at some point. I feel so helpless this far away so any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

The CARS Net

I started The CARS Net in 1995 as an experiment to learn HTML code. I first used it as a site to promote my San Diego Auto Swap (www.SanDiegoAutoSwap.com) Then a buddy asked if he could advertise his Street Rods on The CARS Net. That was the first of hundreds and hundreds of ads for Classic Cars, Motorcycles, Boats, Trailers and Trucks,

Now after over 10 years The CARS Net is NOW FREE! My goal is to make The CARS Net the place on the Net to Buy and Sell all the Classics and Special vehicles we all love. Now that its FREE, you won't have to have to think twice about lisiting your vehicles, and parts.

I also set up a CARS Net Forum so you will have a place to share ideas, ask questions and just generally interact with other enthusiasts from all over the world.

Additionally, I built a CARS Net Blog where I can speak my mind and you can comment on my ramblings.

Use The CARS Net as your online tool to assist you with your Classic Vehicles. Let people know what you have For Sale, or Find that Deal you've been looking for. Use the Forum to find answers to your questions or to just express yourself. Its there for you and your use of it will make it better for you and everyone else who visits it.

Thanks for stopping by The CARS Net. If you have any suggestions or questions, please leave them on the Forum. I check it often. Keep The Shiny Side Up & I'll See Ya On The Street !
